Who we are

Lawrence Christy is a graduate of Harvard Law School (JD magna cum laude 1969) and a member of the New York State Bar. He served nearly 30 years as an FAO legal officer, including 16 years as Chief of the Development Law Service. He was Chair of the FAO Association of Professional Staff Legal Committee, 1977-1988, and of the FICSA Legal Committee, 1984-88. He speaks English, Italian and French.

Maria Teresa Cirelli is a graduate of the University of Bologna (1986 magna cum laude) and Dalhousie University (LL.M. 1990) and admitted to practice in Italy. She has been a legal officer of FAO, advisor to many governments on legislative reforms and a private practitioner. She speaks Italian, English and French.
